1 Day of Happy
Long before the era of hashtag overload, long before #100daysofhappiness was a thing, I foolishly joined a group blog with fellow depressives who decided to post one happy memory a day.
Collectively, we got to Day 4 before calling it quits.
This was the memory I salvaged:
_Whately’s Diner, 3/14/06. 1 am.
9 women, 9 slices of pie, each one unique and beautiful. I chose chocolate, and added a giant old-timey vanilla milkshake to the order for good measure.
9 quarters, 9 songs on the jukebox, each one loud and liberating. Someone would call whoever went out for a cigarette break, so no one would miss out.
9 reasons to smile._
